A Tupelo, Mississippi police detective is suing the city for failing to provide a safe place to work and demoting him after he complained about mold in a building that was making him sick that he worked in.
According to WCBI news, a 12-year veteran, Officer Brandon Garrett had said in his lawsuit that he was targeted for false write ups and demoted by his superiors for voicing his concerns about mold.
Garrett claims that is why the city abandoned the Court Street building and moved to the old airport. The city moved contaminated furniture and records to the new location and his illness continued.
