The mold is so bad at a closed JCPenney store at the Crystal River Mall in Crystal River, Florida, fire rescue inspectors had donned protective gear to view the store, according to the Citrus County Chronicle.

Inspectors with Citrus County Sheriff’s Fire Rescue and Crystal River code enforcement discovered the mold and numerous fire code violations. They have given the mall owner 60 days to determine whether the entire structure is safe.

“Citrus County Fire Rescue’s Fire Marshal’s Office has made no less than 10 attempts since Feb. 26, 2015 to monitor and encourage the management company to affect the necessary repairs only to be met with negative results,” fire inspector Curt Clendenney wrote to then-mall manager Millie Bresnahan in January.
